De 7e Symfonie is niet alleen in de letterlijke zin de zevende slag van de band Apocalyptica, maar het is ook hun zevende album. De vier cellisten worden ondersteund door vier gastzangers. Voor de single 'End of Me' werkte Bush-frontman Gavin Rossdale samen, en voor de nummers 'Not Strong Enough' en 'Broken Pieces' hadden Brent Smith (Shinedown) en Lacey (Flyleaf) er een hand in. Apocalyptica heeft geรซxperimenteerd in alle richtingen op dit album, waarbij de single 'Bring The To Light' met Joe Duplantier (Gojira) een uitstekend voorbeeld is. Apocalyptica blijft trouw aan hun stijl met 7th Symphony en voegt nieuwe elementen op de juiste plaatsen toe.
